Dare to Do Right Service Scavenger Hunt
Sing through Dare to Do Right once, before getting started with this activity.
Ask the children: What does it mean to “Dare to Do Right?” Be courageous in making the right choices could be one definition.
Today we’re going to “Dare to do Right” by completing a couple of different simple service activities around the building. One way we can show that we choose the right is by serving others as a way to show love for Heavenly Father.
Pick one of the service scavenger hunt activity ideas. Work on that service project together as a small Primary or you might invite a class or a couple of children to come up front to help with the task.
All of these service scavenger hunt ideas should be small tasks that just take about 1 minute to complete. They can all be adapted to stay within the Primary room or mix and match and pick ones that would be appropriate for your space. Or, with a small Primary, you can take the time to move around the building and sing this song as you go! They’ll have so much fun making a difference.
After each simple service activity, sing through your song again.
At the end of the activity, invite the children to look for more ways around their own home this week that they can help around their home, school, or other settings and be a great example of doing the right by helping others!
Extension Activities:
- Use this service scavenger hunt as part of a Primary activity outside of your Sunday meetings! You can expand each of the tasks to take a little longer and invite the children to pick one or more of the tasks to complete!
- Invite the classes to take on the service scavenger hunt as part of their class time and see which class can complete the most tasks.
- Send the service scavenger hunt home with the children and invite them to try to be secret service spies and complete some of these challenges after church, next Sunday, or at their weeknight activities.
